Who else is a fern lover out there? We're so excited to offer up ferns this year in the plant sale. This is a crested Japanese painted fern that is vigorous with incredible foliage coloration, excellent for your shade garden. This one is a taller variety and likes to stay moist. Prefers neutral soil to lightly acidic soil. Best to leave old fronds on the plant until spring to help preset young shoots, then cut back old foliage in the spring when new fronds are 6" tall.
