Excellent native pollinator, Joe Pye deserves a greater spotlight in the garden. Little Joe is great if you don't want the towering 5-6ft tall Gateway variety. Gorgeous mauve/dusty pink flowers atop a plant that thrives in moist, fertile soils. This one used to be very common in roadside ditches but I'm seeing it less and less. Likes full sun to part sun, pretty easy to keep it happy. The deer leave it alone in our garden. Cut back in early spring.
