Limelight hydrangea is a true proven winner in the garden. This one is exceptionally hardy and a vigorous bloomer. The unique coloring is truly something to behold as the flower starts off celadon green and then turns pure white as it opens, then eventually turns brown but still provides a point of interest in the winter. Massive blooms make for a stunning show. Best to give this one strong dappled light or morning sun then afternoon shade. Hydrangeas don't handle the heat and intense light of NC summers well, but they do great and stay strong with some shade. Duke Gardens has loads of panicle hydrangea, it's a great place to go see what kind of conditions keep them happy. Adaptable to most soil types, though prefers well drained with good fertility. To prune, cut branches back by 1/3 in early spring as it blooms on new wood. Matches all colors in the garden, makes a great hedge or specimen plant. Plant patented, so no propagation is allowed.
