Perhaps my favorite scent, this perfumed favorite has captivated fans for centuries. This particular lavender is known for it's extreme heat and cold tolerance, which is a blessing for us having to deal with NC's summers and winters. This one also has resistance to common root and foliar diseases. 'Phonomenal' grows on the large side for lavender, though it will take a season or two to get to this point. A staple in sunny gardens, lavender will keep the pollinators humming and be a delight to behold. Low water needs and does better in poor soil. Needs to be sited in a hot sunny location with good drainage especially in winter. Cut back the evergreen foliage in early spring.
