Product Details

First year plant. Madder is an important one to plant sooner than later as you have to grow the plant at least two seasons before the roots get to harvestable stage. Madder root is an age-old source of dye (it's been in use for 5000 years!) for the rare natural color red. This plant is easy to grow, just give it loose and well drained soil and full sun. Make sure you wear gloves when weeding as the plants have hairs on them that can irritate your skin.
