Our lilac are in a part shade location with average to moist conditions and they are doing GREAT! Their fragrance is dream-like and sensational, something you want to envelop yourself in forever. I love the foliage as well, almost heart shaped leaves that add to the plant's interest. This one is a very heavy bloomer and is disease resistant. Deer leave ours alone. Blooms on old wood so best to prune after flowering. Prefers alkaline soil and needs good drainage, especially in winter. Plant patented, so no propagation allowed.
